Please download the latest release of HumanEdj, which includes license files valid for 2011 as well as many new and enhanced features.

In particular, HumanEdj now provides powerful support for resource planning, providing more fine-grained resource allocation and dependency management than is possible using the classic GANTT/PERT approach, while at the same time simplifying and automating the allocation, monitoring and adjustment of resources:

You can specify “Days Effort” (using units and/or decimals) and “Deadline” (date) for an Activity

If an Activity has resources (inputs) delivered by other Activities, the Deadlines of the other Activities are used to calculate an “All Resources Available By Date”

“Days Effort” is added to the “All Resources Available By Date” to calculate the “Expected Finish Date” (you can specify whether or not participants in a template/Plan are expected to work at weekends and/or public holidays)

“Days Margin” is calculated from the difference between “Expected Finish Date” and Deadline

Activities, Stages and Plans where “Days Margin” is less than zero are highlighted in red (or in amber if equal to zero)

Work can be expedited by adjusting Activity resources – updating resource statuses or removing resources from Activities

Total “Days Effort” and “Days Effort Remaining” are shown for Roles, People, Templates and Plans

The date range in which work required (total and remaining) is shown for Roles, People, Templates and Plans

GANTT Chart view available

Since mid-2009 major private and public sector organizations have been using the cloud version of HumanEdj as the collaboration component of leading-edge Web platforms. Building on this work, Role Modellers has now created a AJAX user interface for HumanEdj aimed at introducing Human Interaction Management to the workplace with no need for training.

A demonstration HumanEdj instance showcasing this user interface is now available on the public Internet, and we have a limited number of accounts available to organizations interested in trying out Human Interaction Management for specific purposes – for example, to understand and improve the management of complex sales, large-scale projects, business change programmes, marketing programmes, partner relationships, or other human-driven work.

If you would like to try the demonstration HumanEdj instance, please email info.at.rolemodellers.dot.com to explain the business purpose(s) that you have in mind. There is no charge for usage of the demonstration HumanEdj instance, and no technical skills or setup are required – we’ll simply send you account details, and you can then follow the instructions on this site to get started.

If you wish, Role Modellers will then work with you to build HumanEdj Plan templates that meet your needs. These Plan templates are a valuable record of your business processes – they remain your intellectual property, and can be downloaded from HumanEdj in a choice of standard formats (XML, JSON, PDF, GIF, etc) for use in other software applications. The Plan templates can also be used to create actual Plans via which you do the work itself, and that change during usage to adjust to dynamic business circumstances.

HumanEdj is free for individual use. For larger-scale use, site licenses are available for a starting price of about £1/person/day. The price decreases as more seats are purchased. Note that an organization of any size could use HumanEdj for free by installing it on every staff member’s computer.
